IRS, SSA Verification On Hold During Shutdown
NCS continues to accept 4506-T and SSN Verification orders while
both Agencies'operations are suspended during Federal government shutdown
The failure of Congress to approve a budget before the beginning of the fiscal year on Tuesday, October 1, has resulted in a shutdown of the Federal government. All "non-essential" services are indefinitely suspended, including verification of income through the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and Social Security Numbers through the Social Security Administration.
Despite the shutdown, NCS continues to accept 4506-T and SSA CONFIRM orders and review them for errors through our Quality Assurance review process. We will then forward the 4506-Ts to the IRS to be queued up in the order received, or return forms that need to be corrected.
We will keep you updated as more information and updates become available.
